top 10 fatal terror strikes in INDIA since 1993
I mourn for the dead, and feel really pathetic at this moment. I am proud to live in this country but sadly it hasnt been going well for India since about two decades.
Here is a list of major attacks for last 15 years , I wont put the ratings as all are equally sad and horrible. Its purely for information and I serously hold such acts of terror as untolerable and biggest threat to the civilized world.
- March 12, 1993 – Bombay bombings, 257 deaths.
- Since 2002, terrorism-related fatalities have demonstrated a secular decline in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), and this trend continued in 2006, with a total of 1,116 persons killed. More than 40,000 people have lost their lives in the conflict since 1989, and, even at present, an average of nearly 100 lives is lost each month in J&K.
- December 13, 2001 – Attack on the parliament complex in New Delhi-7 Deaths
- October 29, 2005 – Three powerful serial blasts in New Delhi at different places just two days before Hindu festivalDeepawali. About 70 people died in this incident.-70 deaths
- July 11, 2006 – At least 200 people killed in a series of 7 train bombing during the evening rush hour near Mumbai.
- May 13, 2008 – at least 63 were killed in 9 bomb blastsalong 6 areas in Jaipur.-63 deaths
- A total of 742 persons died in Maoist-related violence across the country in 2006, up from 717 in 2005. Chhattisgarh in 2006 emerged as the worst affected State – dramatically displacing Andhra Pradesh – and the Dantewada District was by far the worst off within the State.
- Manipur, which, at 280 fatalities, now accounts for nearly 45 per cent of the fatalities in the Northeast – with just 5.6 per cent of the region’s population. Manipur thus remains the most violent State in the region, although there is a relative decline in violence, with total fatalities registering a decline from 331 in 2005
- May 18, 2007 – at least 13 people were killed, including 4 killed by the Indian police in the rioting that followed, in thebombing at Mecca Masjid, Hyderabad that took place during the Friday prayers.-13 dead
- July 26, 2008 – 56 were killed and over 110 injured in 17 serial bomb blasts in Ahmedabad.
hope for a better world. hope!
